Usually when people think of restaurants in New York City they imagine them as stylish, but expensive. While it is true that there are restaurants like this within New York there are others that are not as lavish but still offer some of the finest food in New York. Here are a few of the best restaurants in NYC that you should check out next time you visit.
Peasant restaurant is a must if you are in the mood for Italian food. It has some of the best Italian food I've ever had in New York City. It almost feels like you are entering a bomb shelter when walking into Peasant restaurant, but the atmosphere is much different inside the dining room. The brick and wood interior really gives you a sense of home. You will also find thick curtains lining the walls with candles flickering on tables. Peasant is a perfect date restaurant because of its warm, romantic setting. Every morsel of food at Peasant melts in your mouth and leaves you craving more.
If your stomach wants some good Japanese food then head to Ippudo restaurant. Located in the heart of East Village, Ippudo restaurant is the spot for Japanese food. However this is a pretty popular dining spot so you want to be sure that you get a reservation otherwise you will have up to a hour wait or longer but it will definitely be worth it. Don't fret if you have to wait because the food more than makes up for it.
This article needs another Japanese restaurant, and because it is so good I can't leave off Morimoto's. If you've ever caught a glimpse of Iron Chef America on the Food Network then you are aware that this is the same Iron Chef Morimoto as seen on TV. You are immediately struck by the ambience of this restaurant as soon as you enter. The staff at Morimoto's is professional, courteous and the food is absolutely incredible. Morimoto's isn't cheap, but I, and a lot of other patrons, think it is worth every penny.
Considering pizza? Then consider picking up a slice at Fornino. You'll have to venture out to Brooklyn to grab a slice though. Upon arriving you'll be taken in by the friendly atmosphere and then you'll enjoy some of the best pizza in New York. Fornino is a great restaurant to take the family to enjoy a nice night out.
The restaurants I talked about above is just a sliver of the best restaurants in NYC. No matter what your taste pallet may be New York will have it. I strongly suggest that you check out the New York cuisines for yourself and you will quickly see what all the hype is about.
